Is the Ibanez GRX20L a good guitar for beginners?

Hello Everyone,

I have a friend that wants a beginner guitar.

He is really new to playing, and doesn’t want to pay over 200 bucks. Actually he would prefer to be under 150.

I suggested him the Ibanez GRX20L, but ibanez’s are hit or miss guitars.

Any experience, or should he just get a Squier Strat.

Thanks.

Check around dont’ rush to make decision. Go to several stores adn try them out.

You can check here, I think Ibanez is good brand obviously. :) Also Liek Martin, Ovation, Talkamine.

My dad’s first guitar was a Lyle hummingbird.. .nothing expensive but he liked it for starting. Its just important to get outthere and learn!

Sometimes a good deal on a used guitar is best for starting out.

A lefty huh?? While im a bassist, ive played guitar for years too. Have owned all levels of Ibanez gear, and have found there low end stuff to be very good. From my experience, ive found Squire to be more hit and miss with guitars than Ibanez, and especially the Affinity series.
